Yamdrok Lake

Yamdrok Lake which located at the southern bank of Yarlung Zangbo River is one of the sacred lakes of Tibet. As for its crystal clear water with picturesque scenery, Yamdrok Lake is well known as the most beautiful water in the world. Yamdrok Lake is located about 4441 meters above sea level with horizontal length of 130 kilometers and vertical length of 70 kilometers. The overall area of the lake is 638 square kilometers. The total size of Yamdrok Lake is about 70 times larger than West Lake of Hangzhou. Yamdrok Lake as the largest continental Lake at northern side of Himalaya is named as the Coral Lake at the Above in Tibetan language. 

There are some hills and lands in between the lake with 21 islands spread around the space. The largest lake can accommodate 5 to 6 household living on it while the smallest one might have only few hundred square meters. 

Snow Mountain can be seen from Yamdrok Lake.

The scenery is amazingly magnificent. You can see Snow Mountain and the lake. While I was on my way to leonard hotel london, I can also see beautiful mountain scenery but not as beautiful as this one.
